Carita Tarter

Associate

Carita Tarter joined Landsman & Ronald in 2026 as an associate attorney handling litigation. She has a background in litigation stemming from her previous role as an Assistant State’s Attorney for Baltimore City. There, she managed high-volume dockets and gained trial experience in a wide range of criminal matters such as motor vehicle theft, malicious destruction, second degree assault, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a handgun, etc. Prior to that, Carita served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Dana M. Middleton. As a law clerk, she developed strong legal research and writing skills. During law school, Carita served as a student attorney with the Bronfein Family Law Clinic at the University of Baltimore School of Law. She also interned with the American Civil Liberties Union and the Maryland Commission on Civil Rights.

Carita is a Baltimore City native who enjoys all Baltimore City has to offer. She attended Baltimore Polytechnic Institute for high school. She is also a graduate of Towson University, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science in 2020. Growing up, she
participated heavily in the performing arts and pageantry. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active by going to the gym and taking a variety of fitness classes. She also enjoys traveling, as well as spending quality time with her family and friends.
